"In the midst of fear, we stand back to back, we overcome by uniting"

We are uniting our country and educating our children on working together to better their country. Our success depends on:

  • Great people like YOU
  • Donations
  • A continued show of unity

Staying in Touch

I hope this note finds you all well. The snow here in Maine still lingers. Even a few flakes falling, but the hope of spring is near to sight. It brings me great pleasure to tell you that the Heart of America Quilt is now a 501(c)3, National non profit corporation. All donations made to the quilt are tax deductible. This will help so much in our fundraising efforts to show the quilt and to purchase fabric and maintain the fabric already designed. We have also begun our efforts to create an educational program to accompany the quilt. Teaching children about history, current events and community unity. We are all very excited to in this addition to the showings and look forward to your input and help.

We have lined up the location for the Showing in New York City. The location is perfect and we are working to raise the funding to secure the location and pay the deposit along with signing the contract. The New York Showing will bring on the need for us to raise funds like never before. We will need special insurance, we have to pay workers of the location and the list goes on. But I know this is the goal that has been in sight for a long time and we can do anything we try to do. All of us working together will get these kids’ signatures to New York City! I have to say, I thought it would be a simple drop in a city park. But there are more permits for more things then I ever knew existed! Still, I have faith we will do it!

We are also working on a wonderful educational program that will allow us to help teachers and other leaders, teach children about current events, History and of course, bringing their communities together to help those in need. I look forward to telling you more about this as it evolves.

Joy,

Susan

  3.

  4. Have an art contest and let the winner be the designer of your panel.
  5. Invite your neighbors to a gathering and all do a portion of the quilt.
  6. Collect food and clothes for your local shelter while you do a signing.
  7. Take a panel to the mall!
  8. Ask a local event if you can bring a panel and a table.
